Has anyone encountered stripped screws in the back of their Pebble watch? I have two. I’m beyond frustrated that I can’t do a simple fix on the screen issue because of the screws being stripped. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the screws out, preferably without destroying them or my watch?
I searched on this problem on the reddit forum, and see suggestions to put a small piece of rubber band between the screwdriver and the screw head (for added traction), vs applying a tiny dot of crazy glue to the tip of a flathead screwdriver and letting it dry in the stripped screw, then try to unscrew it.
Here some more tips.
In future use the right tool: Torx T-5 for PC and T-4 for PS.
Thanks, I’ll try the super glue. Rubber band did nothing.
As for the using the right tool- I did. The two screws were stripped before I touched them.
Superglue didn’t work; maybe it isn’t a very good super glue I don’t know. But I’m completely frustrated that I can’t get these two screws out.
I realize this isn’t the solution you’re looking for, but I promise that you’ll be happier if you can afford to buy a Pebble 2 and ditch the old one. I can’t tell you how happy I am that I did.
I was able to get another Steel for cheap and it’s working beautifully. Thankfully, the screws are in perfect condition so opening up the back when the time comes shouldn’t be an issue. Thanks for the Pebble 2 suggestion. Only thing is- I hate the way it looks. lol
