So, I've been using UpTempo for several days now for walking (I don't run and I still use Misfit for sleep tracking at this point as it has more data available (deep vs light sleep). There are a few things I really like about the app/approach:
1. It's great to not only track the # of steps but also total time. When my Dr. asks how many minutes a day I walk, she doesn't really care about how many steps I took. So, this will help a lot when we have that conversation.
2. As far as I can tell, the app is only logging significant activity as advertised. No background noise, so to speak. I can't really say it's 100% accurate, but I doubt any of the pedometer/exercise trackers are. The numbers I'm getting certainly look reasonable. And the fact that it doesn't update in real time is actually good for me (being somewhat OCD), so I just look at the app a few times during the day to see if I'm anywhere near my goals.
3. The fonts for the values are a bit small, but I can live with that. Squinting occasionally isn't a big deal.
4. Don't really care about a companion app, as I've said before. I keep this data manually in a spreadsheet anyway (I guess you could say I'm the sync interface....). So toward that end the ability to see yesterday's data is very much appreciated.
On the negative side, I've only had one glitch. As I said, I have been using the Misfit app for sleep tracking. To do that, I have to change from UpTempo to Misfit in the Activity setting on the watch. Last night I did that around 11:30. This morning, after getting up and syncing to the Misfit server (have to sync because the watch itself doesn't display actual hours of deep/light sleep) I switched back to UpTempo in the Activity settings. However, the step count did not reset from last night, so today I've had to manually subtract yesterday's leftover data from today's counts. No big deal and I'm guessing it has to do with the way the Activity tracker works. I can't remember if I paused UpTempo before switching - would that have made a difference one way or the other?
So, all things considered I am really loving UpTempo. Thank you for continuing it's development!
